Los Gatos School Secretary Dead at 36

Misti (Clark) Frederick (1971-2008)

Misti Frederick, the friendly School Secretary at R. J. Fisher Middle School, passed away suddenly over the weekend of natural causes, reportedly suffering a heart attack at home. Frederick was the current president of the Los Gatos Union Classified Employees Association.

"She was a very lovely person," said Fisher Principal Lisa Fraser. "A bright light that people around here just cherished."

Misti Clark came to Fisher eight years ago and smiled through two years of construction, working in a portable office. Her colleagues voted her Distinguished Employee in 2004. When the construction was complete, Misti's desk was front and center inside the school's entrance doors. She was the welcoming face of Fisher.

"She's going to be very missed," said Fraser.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at Calvary Church, 16330 Los Gatos Blvd. at 9:30 a.m.

I am so very saddened to hear of Misti's death. I am in shock of this news. Our family moved to Los Gatos a year ago and our younger son attended 8th grade at Fisher last year. Misti was so kind and friendly and so very helpful. She was a chaperone on the 8th grade trip to NYC and D.C. Of course we didn't know her very well but in the brief time of knowing her she was a positive and kind person. She will be missed.

What? This just can't be true. I have seen Misti at the Le Boulanger on numerous occasions. I remember starting a conversation with her one day and we talked about Los Gatos and how fortunate she was to work in such a great community.

She told me about how much she enjoyed her job and greeting everyone that came in the office. I will never forget her smile and her warm heart when we ran into each other at the Le Boulanger.

I remember one day when Misti had a full load to carry I helped her to her car and she gave me money to buy me coffee.

I am in tears and simply cannot believe the news. She looked very healthy and fit.

RIP Misty the Lord is looking over you and praising you for the service that you have provided to the community.

My sympathies go out to the Frederick family for this untimely loss. Her husband and kids were so lucky to have her as a mother and wife. I am sure many people will be mourning the loss. Lets dedicate this upcoming Secretaries Day to Misti as she deserves to be commemorated for her hard work.
