Los Gatos Police Battle Burglars

Rash of thefts in last week

Vehicle windows were smashed and property taken in five incidents from the Almond Grove and Los Gatos Blvd to Oka Rd., two Almond Grove homes were burglarized, and a car was reported stolen, all in the past few days, according to Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police records.

Thieves smashed a window of a vehicle and grabbed purses, a gym bag, a navigation system, sunglasses, and unspecified "property." First, a gym bag was stolen in this way at the Jewish Community Center in the 6 a.m. hour on Thursday. A similar crime occurred in the 4 p.m. hour Thursday at 14675 Winchester Blvd. Then, victims reported Sunday morning that 3 thefts occurred sometime after 11:30 p.m. Sat. at 34 Bayview Ave., 343 Bean Ave., and 112 Los Gatos Blvd.

A residential burglary was reported Saturday evening between 5 and 9 p.m. at 45 Tait Ave. (same block as the Bean and Bayview incidents later that night). An apartment at 347 Massol Ave. was also reported burglarized some time between Jan. 20 and Feb. 20.

Friday evening, a car was reported stolen at 15736 Izorah Way some time between 6 and 10 p.m.
