Thieves have stolen three golf carts--two from La Rinconada Country Club and one from the Los Gatos Unified Soccer League--in the span of a few days. The LGUSL vehicle was an older, gas-powered model used to distribute trash cans around the field at Fisher Middle School. Police did not describe the two carts stolen from the country club in detail.
Realtor Mary Pope-Handy reported the theft of the soccer club's vehicle on behalf of LGUSL President Ed San Juan on her website, Live in Los Gatos. The cart was last seen Thursday evening and was reported stolen the morning of Sat., May 31. Bolt-cutters were used. The area where the cart had been was strewn with empty beer cans. The LGUSL cart is described as a weathered, white 1991 Yamaha gas golf cart with a top, front windshield, and a black flat-bed.
In a possibly unrelated case, someone stole two golf carts from La Rinconada Country Club sometime between Monday night at 10 and Tuesday morning at 6. Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police Officer Sam Wonnell reports that the thieves cut the chain on a gate at the south end of the golf course, near La Rinconada Dr. and Natalye Rd.
Anyone with information about the cases is asked to call the police at (408) 354-8600. If you know anything about the LGUSL's old white jitney, they'd appreciate hearing from you, as well. Contact information is on the LGUSL website.
