Costume Parade for Los Gatos Tykes

Event for up to 3rd graders Sun, 10/28

The Los Gatos Civic Center lawn will be the setting for the first annual Costume CatWalk Sunday, Oct. 28 from 3 p.m. to 4:30. The free event is presented by the Los Gatos Arts Commission.

Children from pre-school through 3rd grade are invited to preview their costumes in the parade.

"We see this event as a wonderful opportunity for Los Gatos children to interact with their friends in a fun, safe environment," said Arts Commissioner Penelope O'Neill, the event chair. "By putting on costumes and assuming their favorite characters, the kids will have an outlet for their creativity and the production of their own art, something that the Arts Commission encourages and supports."

The event will feature music, a presentation on trick-or-treating safety, and a visit by the Los Gatos/Monte Sereno Police K-9 unit. The first 600 participants will receive special glow-rings that will make them more visible on Halloween night. Parents are asked to park the strollers off the lawn and to sign in with the Arts Commission by 3:15.

"We encourage all Los Gatos parents to bring their small children down to the Civic Center and join the parade," O'Neill says.
