  Blair, the Friday-night No. 1 starter for the 17th ranked University of San Diego Toreros, pitched eight and two-thirds innings of no-hit ball against No. 22 Portland last week before giving up a double with two outs in the ninth inning.

Earlier this year, Alonso recorded just the fourth cycle in program history and set a school record with a 32-game hitting streak.

Since those two season-opening losses, Los Gatos has gone nine games without tasting defeat. The Cats are currently 6-2-3 in league play and tied for the league lead with Mountain View (7-3-1). Los Gatos closes out its regular-season Tuesday at home against a tough Gunn team. With a win, Los Gatos could win its third league title in the last four years.
