Los Gatos Boulevard Walnut Grove to be Developed
Jul 09, 2010, by Eric Johnson NewsBritish developers Grosvenor Americas have purchased a 32-acre walnut grove on Los Gatos Boulevard from the Yuki family, and are now negotiating with local authorities for the rights to develop the property for residential units and office space. The acquisition has been described as “a very rare opportunity to find this big a piece of property in the heart of Silicon Valley. “Though no announcement has been made about the cost of the deal, if the land sold for $50 per square foot, it would be worth about $70 million.

Lockheed Fire a Reminder of Past Los Gatos Blazes

In 1934, 60,000 gallons of wine were used to battle a fire at the Jesuit Novitiate Winery above Los Gatos because there was not enough water.
The current Lockheed fire raging just over the hill in Bonny Doon is a reminder to take precaution during the fire season.

Los Gatos Town Council Talks Money
Apr 07, 2009, by Colleen Watson NewsThe main topic of conversation at Monday night’s town council meeting was money. The raising of fees and the allocation of funds for grants and scholarships were the two most debated agenda items.
Under one proposal, fees would be raised to cover costs, or raised a general 3 percent, which is tagged to the U.S. Consumer Price Index. There are about 350 total fees for the town of Los Gatos. Two new fees were added this yeara $75 firearm storage fee and an alarm registration fee.
