Kyrie Timbrook is hitting .465 with 18 doubles, eight home runs and a whopping 53 RBI for Caldwell College

A year ago, we reported that Kyrie Timbrook of Los Gatos was named to the Daktronics All-East Region Softball second team following her outstanding junior season at Caldwell College in New Jersey.

Since then, Timbrook was named in February as Caldwell College’s recipient of the New Jersey Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (NJAIAW) Woman of the Year Award.

Athletes will often follow awards like that with a lackluster season that does not meet the high expectations that have been set. Not Timbrook. She is putting together an All-America type of season.

Caldwell College currently carries an 35-11 overall record, 21-3 in league play, and Timbrook is hitting a team-leading .465 with 18 doubles, eight home runs and a whopping 53 RBI.

In March, Timbrook received the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Softball Player of the Week award for batting .438 with two doubles, a home run and seven RBI in four games at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. A week later, she won the award again.

This weekend, Timbrook was 4 for 8 with four RBI in a double-header sweep over Chestnut Hill College. Just another typical weekend for the 2006 Los Gatos High School graduate.

In high school, Timbrook was first team all-Santa Clara Valley Athletic League four times as a Wildcat. She was named the league’s most valuable defensive player as a junior and the most valuable offensive player as a senior. She played summer softball with the West Bay Nuggets Gold and helped the Nuggets win the Canada Cup Futures tourney in 2005.
