In a tastefully decorated hospital room, in the arms of a beaming mother and the watchful eye of a smiling father, slept Connor Kikuo Kozuki. His tuft of black hair matched that of his happy parents. Connor has the distinction of being the first baby born in El Camino Hospital Los Gatos since it reopened.
The hospitals maternity ward opened its doors on Monday, and early Tuesday doctors and nurses there delivered their first baby.
Connor Kikuo Kozuki was born on July 28 at 7:46am. He weighed in at exactly six pounds and measured 20 inches. The tiny little boy was bundled in a blanket and occasionally waved around a tiny clenched fist with a hospital bracelet around his wrist, but he didn’t make a peep.
The healthy baby boy is Judy and Tim Kozukis first child. The San Jose couple was very appreciative of the hospital and staff, saying they had given them helpful tips regarding newborns and everyone had been very nice.
Theyre great,” said Tim. “Weve gotten a lot of attention.”
Judy added, We have the whole hospital to ourselves.
They came to the hospital on Monday and after a little over four hours of labor Judy delivered Connor.
Tim mentioned that Connor was a few days late, He was waiting for [El Camino Hospital] Los Gatos to open.
Tim also said he was a bit nervous to head home on Thursday, Here at least we have all these educated people that can help us out.
Asked if they were ready to leave Judy replied, No. We want to take the bed.
